Children should have their eyes examined at 6 months, 3 years, at the start of school, and every years after. Why do children need optometric eye exam?

  • vision is critical for learning

  • most common problems are hard to detect without formal tests

  • the earlier strabismus (eye turn) and amblyopia are detected, the better the prognosis

  • optometrists have the knowledge and equipment to examine eyes

  • There is OHIP coverage for children's eye exam

Myopia Control

More and more school age-children are developing myopia (nearsightedness). There are methods we use to reduce the amount of myopia your child develops, including overnight orthokeratology lenses, daily disposable soft lenses, and low dose atropine therapy
